Single conductor wires are composed of a solid strand of copper with color-coded PVC insulation. They are used when wire forming is required for routing or wire wrapping. Common uses include hooking up circuits either on PCBs as through-hole or wire wrap conductors, or for breadboard prototyping as poke-in circuit paths. Single strand wire and cable is more durable than stranded wire but is not recommended for excessive or frequent flexing.
