The STM32G483QE is a high-performance microcontroller from STMicroelectronics, part of the STM32 G4 series based on the ARM Cortex-M4 core running at up to 170 MHz. It features a floating-point unit (FPU) for enhanced computational accuracy and efficiency in signal processing tasks. The device includes 512 KB of flash memory and 128 KB of SRAM, offering ample space for complex applications and real-time data handling. It supports advanced power management with multiple low-power modes, including Stop 2, Standby, and Shutdown, enabling energy-efficient operation in battery-powered systems.
This microcontroller integrates a rich set of peripherals, such as two advanced analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) with up to 16 channels each, supporting fast sampling rates and high resolution (up to 16-bit). It also includes three operational amplifiers and two comparators for analog signal conditioning. Communication interfaces include up to four USARTs, two SPIs, two I2Cs, one CAN FD, and one USB 2.0 full-speed interface, facilitating seamless connectivity in industrial, consumer, and IoT applications. Additionally, it supports secure boot, hardware encryption (AES), and tamper detection for enhanced system security.
The STM32G483QE is optimized for motor control, power conversion, and sensor fusion applications, featuring dedicated PWM generators with complementary outputs and dead-time control for precise switching in inverters and DC-DC converters. Its integrated digital filter (DFSDM) enables high-precision analog signal acquisition, ideal for audio or industrial sensing. The chip supports flexible clocking schemes, including internal and external oscillators, with phase-locked loop (PLL) options for frequency multiplication.
Designed for robust performance in harsh environments, the STM32G483QE operates across a wide voltage range (1.71–3.6 V) and supports industrial temperature ranges (-40°C to +125°C). It is available in a 64-pin LQFP package, offering a balance between pin count and integration for compact designs. The microcontroller is supported by ST’s comprehensive development ecosystem, including STM32CubeMX for configuration, STM32CubeIDE for software development, and a rich library of drivers and middleware. This combination of performance, integration, and tool support makes the STM32G483QE well-suited for demanding applications in motor drives, power supplies, medical devices, and smart instrumentation.
