TMCS1123-Q1

The TMCS1123-Q1 is a high-precision, low-power analog-to-digital converter (ADC) designed for automotive and industrial applications requiring robust performance in harsh environments. It features a 16-bit successive approximation register (SAR) architecture with an integrated voltage reference, ensuring accurate and stable measurements across temperature and supply variations. The device supports up to 16 single-ended or 8 differential input channels, enabling flexible signal acquisition from sensors such as pressure, temperature, and current transducers. This ADC operates from a 3.3V supply and consumes only 1.5 mW in active mode, making it ideal for power-sensitive systems. Its built-in self-test (BIST) functionality enhances reliability by detecting internal faults during startup or runtime, critical for safety-critical applications like automotive braking or engine control units. Additionally, the TMCS1123-Q1 includes a comprehensive diagnostic suite that monitors supply voltages, internal temperature, and reference integrity, further improving system robustness. The device integrates a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) with selectable gains of 1, 2, 4, 8, or 16, allowing it to interface directly with low-level sensor signals without external conditioning circuitry. This simplifies system design while reducing component count and cost. Communication is handled via a standard SPI-compatible serial interface operating at speeds up to 50 Mbps, enabling fast data transfer to microcontrollers or processors in real-time control systems. Designed to meet AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualification standards, the TMCS1123-Q1 is suitable for operation over a wide temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, making it appropriate for demanding automotive environments. Its robust EMI immunity and low electromagnetic emissions ensure reliable performance in electrically noisy conditions typical in vehicle electronics. Applications include battery management systems, motor control, powertrain diagnostics, and industrial automation where precise analog measurement, low power consumption, and high reliability are essential. By integrating key functions such as PGA, internal reference, and diagnostics into a single chip, the TMCS1123-Q1 reduces board space, lowers BOM costs, and accelerates time-to-market for embedded systems requiring accurate analog signal processing.
