CDCVF2310
The CDCVF2310 is a high-performance voltage-controlled frequency synthesizer manufactured by Texas Instruments, designed for precise frequency generation in demanding communication and signal processing applications. It features a wide tuning range from 10 MHz to 3 GHz, enabling flexible operation across multiple RF bands. The device integrates a low-phase-noise fractional-N synthesizer architecture, ensuring excellent spectral purity with phase noise as low as –105 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset from a 1 GHz carrier.
This IC supports programmable output frequencies with fine resolution, allowing accurate frequency hopping and agile channel switching essential for modern wireless systems such as radar, satellite communications, and software-defined radio (SDR). It includes an integrated charge pump, loop filter, and VCO, minimizing external component count and simplifying design complexity while maintaining stability and performance.
The CDCVF2310 operates from a single 3.3 V power supply and consumes typically 140 mA of current, making it suitable for battery-powered and portable devices where power efficiency is critical. It offers a highly configurable digital interface via SPI-compatible serial control, enabling easy integration into microcontroller-based systems. The chip also features built-in diagnostics, including lock detection and temperature monitoring, which enhance system reliability and reduce maintenance requirements.
Designed for robust operation in industrial and military environments, the CDCVF2310 is specified over a temperature range of –40°C to +85°C. Its compact QFN-32 package reduces board space requirements, supporting high-density PCB layouts. The device is optimized for use in phased array antennas, test and measurement equipment, and high-speed data links where fast settling times and minimal jitter are essential. With its advanced frequency synthesis capabilities, the CDCVF2310 delivers superior performance in both narrowband and broadband applications, meeting stringent regulatory and operational standards.
